Virginia has a variety of important programs that can help you reduce your energy bill or increase your energy independence by adopting solutions like home solar and storage.

Virginia Energy Connect (VEConnect)

VEConnect is a one-stop-shop where households and developers can find incentives for energy improvements and bill reduction programs. The process is quick -- just plug in some basic information and see all the ways you can save!

Percentage of Income Payment Program (PIPP)

PIPP is an energy assistance program for Dominion Energy and Appalachian Power customers where your monthly bills can be capped at a percentage of your income. This offers predictable and stable payments to help ratepayers avoid shutoffs. Customers are also be eligible for past-due balance forgiveness by enrolling.

Energy Assistance Program

Virginia's Energy Assistance Program, offered by the Department of Social Services, offers four different kinds of assistance: 

  • Crisis Assistance for Heating Emergencies 
  • Fuel Assistance for Heating Costs 
  • Cooling Assistance for Bills & Equipment 
  • Weatherization & Energy Efficiency Improvements
