Your Chief Energy Officer
The Chief Energy Officer coordinates energy policy and prioritizes solutions that balance affordability, reliability, and the energy transition. The office also engages with Virginia's regional grid operator (the PJM Interconnection) and state and federal regulators on behalf of the Governor.
Their responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the Secretary of Health and Human Resources and other agencies to promote programs to lower utility bills for Virginia's families.
- Communicating with our neighboring states and PJM Interconnection, the regional transmission organization that manages the electric grid and wholesale power markets.
- Engaging with the General Assembly to enact legislation to address energy affordability and demand.
- Actively interacting with Virginia regulators, utilities, and other stakeholders to lower energy costs
- Coordinating with the Secretary of Commerce and Trade to champion Virginia investments in energy.
